2020 Award Winners

Hello, my name is Ashton Rodrick, and I am a graduate of Serena High School. I plan to attend IVCC to start pursuing my degree in business. Throughout high school, I loved being involved in many clubs and organizations and I hope to do the same in my college career. I can’t wait to see what my future holds!

Hi my name is Brandt Faivre I attended Serena high school for four years and played baseball basketball and soccer all four years and ran track for one I am now attending Sauk Valley community College in pursuit of an ag business degree I plan to help my grandparents on the farm and live a respectable lifestyle of always helping others.

My name is Abbey Kuhn. I graduated from West Aurora High School in 2020 and am planning on pursuing a degree at The Ohio State University. In addition to my dedication to academics, sports have always provided me balance and have been a huge influence throughout my life. In high school I participated in diving, basketball, and track and I am very excited to continue pole vaulting on the team at Ohio State. 

Hello! My name is Alexander Carrillo. I graduated from West Aurora High School and I am planning on attending Loyola University to pursue a degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Psychology. Music and art are huge parts of my life. I love to play the piano, guitar, and saxophone, as well as making my own music. As far as art goes, I am big on photography and videography, and I plan on joining media clubs at Loyola. Other than that, I played volleyball all four years in high school and I am looking forward to joining club volleyball in college. In my free time, I love to spend time with family and friends, and offer my hand in community service. I am blessed to have received this scholarship and I am very excited to continue the next four years of my academic career at Loyola University!

Hi my name is Maddie Christy and I attended Oswego High School. This fall I will be attending Purdue University to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering! While at Purdue I plan to make the most of my time and get involved in a lot of social/academic clubs! Going to school to study something I love is a dream come true and I hope to use all my future knowledge to change this world for the better. 

Hi my name is Daniel Garcia. I graduated from Oswego High School and I am planning on attending the University of Illinois at Chicago this fall. I will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I have a passion in motorsports and I race go karts semi professionally. I additionally race in the Midwest Regional Championship Series. I plan on continuing my passion by working with the UIC Motorsports team during my four years at college. I am excited to see what this journey has in store for me, I am ready for everything.

Hi!, My name is Hailey Newton. I attended Hall High School and am currently attending Illinois Valley Community College. I am planning to attend Northern Illinois University next fall to pursue a degree in business administration. In my free time I love spending time with friends and family and hope to make them proud. I am very excited to meet new people, and become involved in the many activities the school has to offer! I’m blessed to have received this scholarship and can’t wait to see what the world of business has in store for me!

Hi, my name is Nicholas Underhill and it’s an honor to have been selected for the Trevor Wehner Scholarship. I attended Ottawa Township High School and am currently attending Illinois Valley Community College. I am planning on pursuing a degree at Northern Illinois University in the field of psychology, with a long term goal in being a neuropsychologist. It’s in this field I hope to give back to my community.
